Dog Stolen from Car in Wallingford Parking Lot

Casper, who has anxiety and suffers seizures, was stolen from his owner's car and police are asking for assistance in locating him.

WALLINGFORD, CT — A woman’s beloved dog was stolen from her vehicle while she was at a restaurant with a friend at the Staples Plaza in Wallingford on Tuesday night, according to police.

Wallingford Police received a 911 call at about 8:50 p.m. that Casper, a 12-year-old white male Pomeranian, was stolen from the vehicle that was parked in the Staples Plaza, located at 1145 North Colony Road, according to Lt. Richard Homestead.

Casper (pictured) weighs 6 to 7 pounds, has a unique bent cotton ball like tail, wheezes when he breathes, has anxiety that causes him to shake and has seizures. He is not neutered. He was wearing a dark blue sleeveless hooded vest and camouflage harness when he was taken.

Homestead said the investigation revealed that the female owner and her friend were in a restaurant that is part of the Staples Plaza from approximately 8 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. while Casper was left in their blue Audi Quattro convertible.

The perpetrator/s gained access through a partially opened window.

“Casper’s owner is extremely distraught over his disappearance and very concerned about his health and welfare,” Homestead said in a press release. “Casper’s safe and speedy return is her primary concern.”
