Fire Displaces Family of Five in Wallingford

Teenager, dog make it out safely (they were the only ones home at the time of the fire).

A family of five has been displaced following a Thursday morning fire at 60 Deer Run Road in Wallingford, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.

The homeowner, Clark Hummel, told the Record-Journal that his teenage daughter was the only one home, along with the family’s dog, and they both made it out safely.

The fire, which was reported around 9 a.m., apparently started in the basement near the furnace, according to NBC Connecticut.

The home has been deemed uninhabitable as it sustained electrical and structural damage, according to the Record-Journal.
