Longtime Wallingford Schools Food Services Director Takes Bridgeport Job
The director reportedly interviewed for, and accepted, a job with the Bridgeport public school system while on paid medical leave.
WALLINGFORD, CT — Longtime Wallingford food services director Sharlene Wong has accepted a similar position with the Bridgeport public school system, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.
The Record-Journal reports Wong, who earns a salary of $93,406 in Wallingford, interviewed for and accepted the job while on paid personal medical leave.
In an attempt at cost-cutting, Wallingford has been considering hiring an outside contractor for food services and school officials tell the Record-Journal it’s unclear if the town will hire a new full-time food service director.
