Mass. Mother Accused Of Killing 3 Children Was Wallingford Resident

The woman accused of killing her three children is a former Wallingford resident and Quinnipiac University graduate, according to reports.

WALLINGFORD, CT — A Massachusetts woman accused of killing her three children is a former Wallingford resident, according to multiple reports.

Plymouth District Attorney Timothy Cruz announced Wednesday that an arrest warrant was issued for Lindsay Clancy, 32, of Duxbury, Mass., following the Tuesday night strangulation deaths of Cora, 5, and Dawson, 3.

Their 8-month-old sibling, Callan Clancy, was flown to a hospital in Boston Tuesday night and later died, authorities said in an update on Friday.

Lindsay Clancy graduated from Lyman Hall High School in Wallingford in 2008, and earned a biology degree from Quinnipiac University in Hamden in 2012, according to the Boston Globe.

Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz had previously announced he would charge Lindsay Clancy with two counts of homicide, three counts of strangulation and assault and battery with a deadly weapon. The mother was reportedly experiencing postpartum anxiety before the Tuesday incident.

Clancy attempted to die by suicide on Tuesday, but was hospitalized. She has been in police custody since Wednesday.

Massachusetts General Hospital told NBC10 reporter Abbey Niezgoda on Wednesday that the woman involved in the tragedy works at the hospital, Niezgoda wrote in a tweet.

"Our prayers are with the family and community today," the Plymouth County Sheriff's Office wrote in a tweet. "We keep [Duxbury Police, Duxbury Fire, the Plymouth County DA], and all of the public safety personnel that responded last night, to a truly horrific scene, in our thoughts."

A GoFundMe has been set up for Patrick Clancy, the father of the three children and Lindsay Clancy's husband.
