New Health Director Named In Wallingford

Former Health Director Stephen Civitelli resigned to take a position with the Florida Health Department.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Vanessa Bautista has been appointed as Wallingford’s new Health Director, Mayor William W. Dickinson Jr. recently announced.

Bautista, who has worked in the Public Health Department since 2016, served as interim health director after Stephen Civitelli resigned from the position in April. Civitelli left for a position as the administrator for the Florida Department of Health’s Volusia County office.

The Connecticut Health Department approved Bautista’s qualifications, according to Dickinson.

Bautista “very capably assisted” Civitelli throughout the coronavirus pandemic, according to Dickinson.

“Ms. Bautista is a well-organized, intelligent person, who works very effectively to provide the 10 Essential Services while understanding the emotional impacts of public health directives,” Dickinson said in a news release. “We are fortunate to continue to benefit from her talents.”
