Reward Increased to Find 'Justice for Bella'

Bella's owner continues to seek information leading to an arrest after Bella was found shot to death and dumped in Wallingford in December.

Celynna Linton is continuing to seek justice for her dog Bella, who was found shot to death and wrapped in a blue tarp in the Tyler Mill nature preserve in Wallingford — one hour and 20 minutes away from her home in Chaplin — on Dec. 3.

Linton, along with friends, is offering a reward for any information that leads to the arrest of the person responsible for Bella’s death. The reward was recently increased to $2,500. It was originally $1,000 after a friend of the family, Katelin Kapura, organized a fundraising page on crowdrise.com titled Justice for Bella.

If no arrest is made, the funds will be donated to help animals in need, according to an earlier Wallingford Animal Control Facebook post.

Linton recently posted a video of Bella on the Justice for Bella Facebook page to celebrate her companionship.

“I am aware my dog suffered alone the last few hours of her life, and knowing that has been very painful,” Linton wrote. “I wanted to do something that would help me remember her happy, and healthy, a part of my life. I would also ask for you to share this ANYWHERE you think the person who committed this cruel act against Bella might see it. I want them to fully grasp what they have taken away from my family, I want it to haunt them. I appreciate your sympathy, but I truly need your help.

“Any ideas you have as to where I should begin to look, or what you would do if this were your dog, please share.”

Linton is also asking people to share the flyer pictured above.

“I cannot forget, and neither should the person responsible,” Linton wrote.
