Tree Lighting Ceremony, Celebration Event Details In Wallingford

Wallingford's Seasons of Celebration Event and Tree Lighting Ceremony will feature visits with Santa & Mrs. Claus, a parade and more.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Wallingford’s Seasons of Celebration Event and Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place on Saturday, Dec. 7. The free event features visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus, horse and carriage rides, a parade and more.

The activities at the parade grounds and Wallingford Town Hall will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. There will be a magician, petting zoo, arts and crafts, cookies and hot chocolate, candy canes and goodies for the kids and more. There will also be a fire truck on hand to collect toys so residents are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy.

The Frosty Parade leaves Town Hall at 5 p.m. It will be led by Frosty, Rudolph, the Toy Soldiers, the Choral students from Lyman Hall High School, and the Roaming Railroad and will travel down Center Street to Johanna Manfreda Fishbein Park.

Johanna Manfreda Fishbein Park and the Gazebo, from 5:15 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.

There will be music and entertainment at the Gazebo area before the Tree Lighting which will include holiday songs by the Wallingford Chorus, dancing by students at the Judyth Fucci Parks School of Dance, a visit from Mary Poppins and Bert, and Mayor William W. Dickinson Jr. reading ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.

All events are free to kids of all ages. Seasons of Celebrations is sponsored by the Wallingford Public Celebrations Committee.

If the outdoor activities have to be canceled due to the weather, there will still be visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus Holiday candy, hot chocolate, and cookies inside the Town Hall.
