Victim Stabbed On Bus In Wallingford, Man Arrested: Police

A person was stabbed during a fight on a CT Transit Bus in Wallingford, according to police.

WALLINGFORD, CT — A Meriden man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing on a CT Transit Bus in Wallingford on Saturday, according to police.

Police responded to the area of North Colony Road and Old North Colony Road on March 28 on the report of a fight on a CT Transit Bus in the area.

Callers reported that someone was stabbed, and someone possibly had a gun, according to Lt. Stephen Jaques.

Officers located the CT Transit Bus and found that the suspect had fled the scene on foot in the vicinity of Home Depot on North Colony Road), according to Jaques.

Jaques said an altercation had occurred on the bus between the suspect and an unidentified female.

“The unknown female struck the suspect when the victim got involved,” Jaques wrote in a news release. “The suspect then recklessly stabbed backward numerous times, striking the victim in the leg. No firearms were located.”

Officers canvassed the area and found a man matching the suspect's description on North Colony Road near Yale Avenue, according to Jaques.

Jaques said the suspect, later identified as 56-year-old Timothy Scott of Meriden, was arrested and taken back to Wallingford Police Headquarters for processing.

The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries to the leg and was treated at an area hospital, according to Jaques.

Scott was charged with second-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace. He was released after posting a $25,000 bond with a court date of April 9.
