Wallingford Man Sentenced for Calling Sandy Hook Shooting a 'Hoax'

The man made five calls to the school's temporary quarters in Monroe calling the Sandy Hook shooting a hoax, police said.

Timothy Rogalski, 30 pleaded guilty to five counts of second-degree harassment and one count of disorderly conduct. He received a six-month suspended sentence.

According to the paper, Rogalski was ordered to have no further contact with anyone at the school.

Rogalski was arrested in April after police say he made harassing phone calls to Sandy Hook Elementary School in Monroe. He also called two Newtown schools that included Hawley School and Newtown Middle School.

In the phone calls, Rogalski called the Dec. 14, 2012 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary a hoax. Monroe Police Detectives with the assistance of the Wallingford Police Department went to Rogalski’s home at 17 Franklin Street where he was placed under arrest in April.

During a court appearance on April 8, Rogalski said, “I don’t think I said anything that horrible.”
