Wallingford Police Interrupt Drug Deal, Seize 220 Bags of Heroin: PD

Police say the suspect recently became known to detectives as a heroin supplier in town.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Wallingford Police seized 220 bags of heroin and arrested a suspect they say recently became known as a heroin supplier in town during a drug bust at the Southwind Apartments complex on Tuesday morning.

At about 9 a.m. on Nov. 1, the Wallingford Police Department Narcotics Unit received information that Harvey Jennings III would be going to Southwind Apartments, located at 181 Southwind Drive, to sell heroin, according to Lt. Michael Colavolpe.

Colavolpe said Jennings recently became known to detectives to be a supplier of heroin in town.

Detectives witnessed Jennings arrive at the apartment complex and meet up with a potential buyer. Colavolpe said detectives approached Jennings as the transaction was taking place and took him into custody.

Jennings was found to be in the possession of 140 bags of heroin and 10 Xanax pills along with approximately $600 in cash, according to Colavolpe.

Colavolpe said an additional 80 bags of heroin were found inside Jennings’ vehicle.

Jennings, 25, of Grieb Road in Wallingford, was charged with sale of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics, and possession of a controlled substance. He is currently being detained on a $50,000 bond and will be arraigned at Meriden Superior Court on Nov. 2.
