Davis is a Sheehan graduate and a member of the Southern Connecticut State University men’s track & field team.
The Bowerman is bestowed to collegiate track & field's top male and female athlete for the year. Davis' inclusion on the list expands his already-historic year. Davis becomes the first NCAA Division II Male Semifinalist in the award's history, which dates back to 2009. Davis' season will be compared and considered against nine NCAA Division I student-athletes.
In 2024, Davis won his second NCAA Division II Javelin Throw National Championship as well as his fourth All-American honor. He also won his fourth-straight Northeast-10 Conference Championship and fourth-straight NEICAAA New England Championship.
At this year's NCAA Outdoor Championship, Davis launched a throw of 84.45m (277'1"), which stands as the top throw by an American athlete in collegiate history and the fourth-best overall performance all-time. Earlier this season, Davis broke the NCAA all-division record with a throw of 83.77m at the 96th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays before setting the new record at the NCAA Championships. Along the way, he won his fourth-straight NE10 and NEICAAA New England Championships and finished fourth with a throw of 75.32m (247'1") at the prestigious Drake Relays which featured some of the top javelin talent in the world.
