Wallingford’s National Night Out Postponed

The Wallingford Police Department's National Night Out community event has been postponed, officials announced.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Due to the rain in the forecast, the Wallingford Police Department has postponed its National Night Out community event to Wednesday, Aug. 7.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. on South Main Street in front of Town Hall, according to police.

“We will incorporate the event into the Twilight Tunes Series,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “We thank you for your patience and look forward to meeting everyone on Wednesday.”

The event will be held from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

"There will be a chance to interact with the Wallingford Police and Fire Departments, along with other town departments and community-based organizations," police wrote in a news release. "Food and beverages from the Pig Rig, Los Mariachis, Bananas Ice Cream, and Green Kettle Coffee will be available for purchase.

"The annual National Night Out community - building campaign promotes police and community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. This event provides a great opportunity to bring the police and the community together under positive circumstances.
