Wallingford Student Competing In Cooking Contest On National TV

The student is one of four finalists in the cooking competition, which will air on national TV Friday morning.

WALLINGFORD, CT — A Wallingford high school student will be appearing in a cooking competition on national TV on Friday morning. The Meriden Record-Journal reports Jules Esposito, a senior at Lyman Hall, will be on the Rachael Ray Show vying for the opportunity to win a $25,000 scholarship in the talk show’s first-ever “Cook Your Way to Culinary School” competition. Esposito is one of four finalists in the episode, which will air at 10 a.m. on ABC.

Esposito, a culinary arts student, manages Lyman Hall’s student-operated food truck business, according to the Record-Journal.

The episode description on the show’s website states “4 Culinary Rockstars Face Off For a $25K Scholarship + Chefs Gail Simmons and Curtis Stone Judge!”

“Someone's life is about to change, because we’re naming the winner of our ‘Cook Your Way to Culinary School’ competition! Four young culinary rockstars are facing off in 3 different in-studio cooking challenges… including a Burger-Off! And, we have some culinary greats at the judges’ table, including ‘Top Chef's’ Gail Simmons and Chef Curtis Stone! Plus, Rach serves up steak, fries and creamed spinach!,” according to the post on the website.
