Fentanyl Packages Found At Waterford Nursing Home Under Investigation
More than 250 packages of suspected fentanyl were found in the room of a nursing home resident, according to a report.
NEW LONDON, CT — Police and health officials are investigating after finding more than 250 packages of fentanyl in the belongings of a bedridden woman at a Waterford nursing home, The Day of New London reported.
The packages were mostly empty but tests found residue in one bag testing positive for fentanyl.
Police have opened an investigation of Greentree Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where the suspected fentanyl was found on two occasions in November.

"On Nov. 17, 2023, a member of our staff at Greentree Manor discovered evidence of fentanyl in a resident’s room. We immediately notified the Waterford police, who have been conducting an investigation.
"It is important to note that no other residents or staff members had access to the medication.
"We continue to work with the authorities and appreciate their prompt attention to this matter."
