2 Years Later: West Hartford PD Seeks Fatal Hit-And-Run Suspect
The West Hartford Police Department said it is still searching for the motorist who struck and killed an elderly woman on Dec. 20, 2022.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — In the two years since 89-year-old Eugenia Yurovsky was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in West Hartford, the town has embarked on a comprehensive campaign toward pedestrian/vehicle safety.
But the town's police department has yet to catch the person responsible for the Dec. 20, 2022 tragedy. It is not giving up.
Recently, the West Hartford Police Department reminded the public of a $26,000.00 reward that is still being offered for information leading to the arrest.

"The West Hartford Police Department remembers Eugenia Yurovsky and would like to remind the public that the Office of Governor Ned Lamont, in conjunction with the West Hartford Rotary Club, is offering a $26,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons associated with the death of Eugenia Yurovsky on December 20, 2022," wrote the WHPD.
Amid the hustle and bustle of the pre-Christmas rush in 2022, Yurovsky was crossing the street near the intersection of Boulevard and Whiting Lane. at about 5 p.m., the sun setting about 40 minutes earlier.

But her life ended violently at the hands of a hit-and-run drive, one of five lives lost that particular month on West Hartford roads.
It was a tragic month that prompted West Hartford and its town council to embark on the Vision Zero initiative, a comprehensive safety plan whose goal is to eliminate fatalities and serious injuries on local roadways.
