First Company Governor's Foot Guard Athletic Association Dog Shows and Obedience Trials

The First Company Governor’s Foot Guard Athletic Association will sponsor their annual Dog Show and Obedience Trials this weekend. This will be the 82nd edition of this annual event. This year the Foot Guard will be sponsoring two shows; one on February 16 and one on February 17. These are separate shows with different judging and different winners each day. These are AKC sanctioned shows where the dogs will compete for championship points. Saturday’s show is an All Breed and Junior Showmanship (AB/JSHW) event and Sunday will be All breed, Obedience and Junior Showmanship (AB/O/JSHW).
Approximately 800 dogs will compete in the Saturday show and nearly 900 dogs will compete in the Sunday show. Over 140 different breeds will be represented and will come from as far away as Texas, Minnesota and California as well as Canada are expected to compete for championship points in each show. We will even have dogs that just competed as Westminster. This is a great family event for everyone from serious dog enthusiasts, people who want to learn more about dog shows or particular dogs breed to people who just love dogs. Visitors to the show not only get to watch the competition but they can go ‘backstage’ to meet the dogs and their owners/handlers.
In the obedience trials, we’ll have some amazing dogs that will awe you as they perform their exercises.
