RBC Wealth Management Donates $1,100 to Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters

RBC Wealth Management, one of the nation's largest full-service securities firms, recently discovered an innovative way to help fund the mission of Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters, Connecticut's premier youth mentoring organization.

"I was cleaning my desk one afternoon," said James Goldman, First Vice President - Financial Advisor at RBC Wealth Management's Hartford office, "and I was surprised to find just how much spare change I had accumulated. I checked with others in the office and learned they were experiencing the same situation. Everybody at RBC Wealth Management agreed to pool the loose change we'd found. Once a couple of personal checks were added, the total came to $1,110. We decided to donate it all to Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters, a results-oriented  organization that we  believe changes disadvantaged children's lives and helps them reach their highest potential."

Richard Metcalfe, Vice President-Financial Advisor in RBC Wealth Management's Hartford office said, "The RBC corporate culture is deeply rooted in lending a helping hand to organizations, like Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters, that make such positive differences in our communities. I have personal experience with Nutmeg. Not too long ago, I was a Big Brother in their program. I have seen firsthand the amazing impact their brand of mentoring has – on the child, and on the mentor as well. Hopefully, other local businesses will emulate the RBC 's charitable  efforts, allowing Nutmeg to pair even more deserving youngsters in life-changing matches with inspirational adult mentors."

"We are deeply grateful for this latest example of generosity from our good friends at RBC Wealth Management," said Andy Fleischmann, President and CEO at Nutmeg. "It's particularly gratifying to see a very successful business recognize the importance of helping children who are so in need of a hand. And I don't think it's a coincidence that a great Big Brother like Rick Metcalfe was involved in this effort! "
