App Helps Locate Burglary Suspect: West Hartford Police
The suspect is accused of burglarizing two homes in West Hartford on Tuesday morning.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — An iPad app helped locate a burglary suspect accused of burglarizing two homes in West Hartford on Tuesday morning, according to police. A homeowner on Bramley Road returned home on Tuesday morning to find his house burglarized and his iPad missing, police said.
Upon calling police, the homeowner used his "Find my iPad" locator. A suspect was located just east of Bramley Road at the intersection of South Main Street and New Britain Ave, according to police. (To sign up for West Hartford breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
Officers arrived on the scene and an investigation resulted in the arrest of Jeffrey Barnes, who police said was in possession of the homeowner's iPad and property from a home on Knollwood Road.

Barnes, 54, of Hartford, was taken into custody and charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, two counts of fifth-degree larceny and third-degree criminal mischief. Barnes also had an outstanding arrest warrant from Windsor Police for burglary charges, according to police.
