West Hartford Library To Host Special Book Group For Immigrants

The group begins meeting Wednesday and will continue through late November.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A book club especially for local immigrants begins meeting at the West Hartford Public Library's Faxon site on Wednesday, Sept. 21.

The library site, located at 1073 New Britain Ave., is hosting the free, in-person book club for immigrants on Wednesdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. starting on Wednesday and continuing through Wednesday, Nov. 30.

It is called "The Building Connections Book Club" and it is for West Hartford advanced English learners who want to develop their English reading and communication skills in a diverse, inspiring and encouraging environment, according to the library.

Participants will be given reading material each week and then meet in a group to ask questions and discuss the text.

The book club is free. The fall session had participants from nine different countries, according to the library.
