Celebrate Cultures At Blue Back In West Hartford
Local library to host 'Celebrate All Of Us' Saturday at popular shopping destination.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Cultural diversity will be on full display Saturday at Blue Back Square in West Hartford, courtesy of the town's public library system.
The popular shopping destination at 65 Memorial Road will feature dancing, music and celebrate "cultures around the world" that day, according to an announcement posted on social media by the West Hartford Public Library.
Called "Celebrate All Of Us," Saturday's event is being hosted by the Noah Webster Library and the free fun will be highlighted by two dancing events from very different cultures.

From 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 10, "Celebrate All Of Us" will feature Senegalese dancer Abdou Sarr, who will teach guests and perform traditional dance routines from his West African nation.
"Abdou is extraordinary, dynamic and very engaging," the library wrote on its website. "Since his arrival in the U.S., he has been busy dancing, making Senegalese clothing, taking English classes, raising a family, helping his family back home and traveling with 'World Rhythms' and 'Arts Are Essential.'"

"World Rhythms" and "Arts Are Essential" are two separate nonprofit groups promoting music and the arts.
Then, after Abdou, Sunshine Entertainment will host country line dancing from 1 to 2 p.m., where guests will be able to participate in a truly American form of dance that was popular in the early 1990s and continues to this day.
The "Celebrate All Of Us" program is made possible by the Thomas F. Kilfoil Memorial Bequest, part of the West Hartford Library Foundation.
