Charity Concert Series to Benefit Boys & Girls Club of Hartford
"The Beach Boys" to kick off Trantolo & Trantolo Charity Concert Series on August 17, 2019

Hartford, Conn. (May 15, 2019)—“Good Vibrations” and beach balls filled the air at the Boys & Girls Club of Hartford (BGCH) as officials from Hartford and Simsbury announced Rock 'N Roll Hall of Famers The Beach Boys will kick off the "Trantolo & Trantolo Charity Concert Series" to help raise funds to help build The Boys & Girls Club of Hartford’s new Southend Club.
The "Good Vibrations, Great Cause" charity concert will be held at the Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center (SMPAC), on Saturday, August 17th, 7:30 pm. Special pre-sale tickets go on sale Monday, May 20, 2019 at 10 am.
“The Beach Boys concert is part of a multi-year commitment of charity concerts by Trantolo & Trantolo to bring world-class performers to the Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center on behalf of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford,” said Scott Trantolo, Chief Operating Officer at Trantolo & Trantolo, a Hartford-based personal injury law firm. “This is truly the ‘last blast of summer’ complete with one of the season’s larger firework shows.”

“This is what being a good neighbor is all about,” said Simsbury First Selectman Eric Welman. “Further, we salute the Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center for enriching both our community and our region.”
According to Sam Gray, President & CEO of BGHC, since its founding as the first Boys & Girls Club in the nation in 1860, the mission of the Boys & Girls Club of Hartford has been to provide a safe and positive place for kids, filling the gap between school and home.
“The Boys & Girls Club of Hartford touches the lives of more than 8,000 kids annually. But there are kids we do not reach. While Boys & Girls Clubs are nationwide, we are not yet citywide in Hartford, the birthplace of the Boys & Girls Clubs movement. The new Southend Club will serve an additional 1,500 children in the city’s southeast corridor,” Gray said.
“A standing ‘O’ to Trantolo & Trantolo naming the Boys & Girls Club of Hartford the official charity of their charity concert series. So, yes, this is “Good Vibrations for a Great Cause’,” Gray said.
Since lead-singer man Mike Love penned the lyrics to The Beach Boys’ first hit, “Surfin’” (1961), dozens of the bands chart toppers have become eternal anthems of American youth: “Surfin’ USA,” “Surfer Girl,” “Fun, Fun, Fun,” “I Get Around,” “California Girls,” “Help Me Rhonda,” “Barbara Ann,” “Good Vibrations,” “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” “Rock and Roll Music” and “Kokomo.” The Beach Boys were elected to the Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame in 1988. The Beach Boys are led by Mike Love, who, along with Bruce Johnston, Christian Love, Scott Totten, John Cowsill, Brian Eichenberger, Tim Bonhomme, Randy Leago, and Keith Hubacher continue the legacy of America’s iconic band.
“Helping to build the new South End Club for the Boys & Girls Club is a homecoming for me as I grew up in Hartford’s South End, “ said Vincent Trantolo. “We look forward to seeing you on August 17th in Simsbury for the ‘Good Vibrations, Great Cause’ charity concert.”
