Couple to Open Australian Shop in West Hartford

A husband and wife team is looking to bring a little bit of Australia to West Hartford.

Samantha and Jimmy Hines, who are originally from Australia, are opening the Cookshop Plus, a kitchen and housewares shop, at 977 Farmington Avenue in late November, according to the Hartford Courant.

Samantha Hines told the Courant that her parents, Joanne and Terry Ryan, have been running the Cookshop Plus shop in Australia for 12 years, but the family decided it was time to make a change and they fell in love with West Hartford while visiting a friend.

While the original Cookshop Plus brought U.S.-based products to Australia, the West Hartford store aims to do the reverse and feature Australian products, according to the Courant.

Cookshop Plus will also have a coffee bar and will have a demonstration kitchen where it will host cooking classes.
