Credit Union Robbed In West Hartford; Suspect Sought
A young man robbed the American Eagle Financial Credit Union Monday afternoon and escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Police are searching for a young man who reportedly robbed the American Eagle Financial Credit Union at 1245 New Britain Avenue Monday afternoon. Around 2:33 p.m., the suspect reportedly passed a note to the teller instructing them to give him a specified amount of money, or else he would shoot, police said.
Based on the note and the suspect’s conduct, the teller believed the threat to be legitimate. No firearm was displayed during the incident, and the suspect escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
The suspect was described as a white or Hispanic man, in his mid to late 20s, standing about 5-feet-10 with a thin mustache and beard. He was reportedly wearing gold-rimmed glasses, dark pants, and a gray and blue hooded sweatshirt with a picture of a penguin on the front. He was also in possession of a backpack, police said.

Officers attempted to track the suspect using a police canine, but no suspects were located. Anyone with information is asked to contact the West Hartford Police Department at 860-523-5203.
