CT Mother Looks to Raise Childhood Cancer Awareness Through Work with Social Media Campaign
An Ivoryton mother is looking to help raise awareness of childhood cancer by working with a prolific organization.

IVORYTON, CT - A mother from Ivoryton was recently named “Volunteer of the Year” for her work through a social media campaign aimed to raise awareness about childhood cancer, Fox 61 reported.
Kristen Alexander has been looking to raise awareness ever since losing her father to a glioblastoma multiforme brain tumor, according to Fox 61. She also said she does not believe current advertisements reflect the true faces of childhood cancer.
Hoping to make a difference for children everywhere, Alexander began working with the social media campaign The Truth 365. According to their website, the organization aims to “[give] a voice to all children fighting all forms of cancer.”

The campaign attempts to shine a light on the state of childhood cancer research funding by uniting the childhood cancer community with members of Congress, top pediatric oncologists and even some celebrities. The organization has also produced an Emmy Award-winning grassroots documentary film.
Alexander has found success with The Truth 365 thus far, having recently been awarded by the organization for her work running movie nights, as well as a special lemonade stand, Fox 61 reported. She continues to urge supporters to write to Congress and do all they can to support the cause.
