Deadline Is Friday To RSVP For West Hartford Vietnam War Event

State of Connecticut will host a special ceremony honoring West Hartford's Vietnam War-era veterans on Sept. 21. Deadline to RSVP is Friday.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Local officials are reminding West Hartford Vietnam War-era veterans that the deadline to RSVP for a special recognition ceremony later this month is Friday.

West Hartford Vietnam War-era veterans and their families are invited to a special recognition ceremony on Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 5 p.m. at the Conard High School Auditorium, 110 Beechwood Road.

A certificate of appreciation will be presented from the State of Connecticut.

“While we would very much love to see you in person to thank you for your service,” said Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz, “if you are unable to attend this public event, let us know and we can optionally send your recognition certificate directly to you and your family. Please let us know by Sept. 9 so we can accommodate this request.”

Attendees are asked to RSVP by Friday, Sept. 9, by emailing VeteransAffairs@westhartfordct.gov or calling Renée McCue at 860-561-7521.
