WEST HARTFORD/FARMINGTON, CT — Possible weekend snow be darned, springtime is coming to central Connecticut — like it or not.

And one sure sign of that is the opening of "Bunnyville," the Westfarms Malls' oasis of color celebrating the Easter holiday of rebirth and rejuvenation.

Officials at the mall, located in both West Hartford and Farmington, said Monday that Bunnyville's unabashed leader, the Easter Bunny, will arrive on Friday, March 10.

He will then set up shop in his little indoor community through April 8.

That's when local children and families will be able to have their picture taken with the most famous furry, buck-toothed mammal of spring.

Bunnyville is located in the mall's Center Court, which happens to also be where Santa Claus sets up shop at the end of the year.

Among the features at Bunnyville, described as a "three-dimensional town for kids to explore," is the "Hoppin' Fresh Bakery," "Hare Salon" and the "24 Carrot Bank."

There also two special events later this month for Easter Bunny visits with pets, called "Bunny Paws," and a sensory-free experience for children who require that type of attention, "Bunny Cares."

"Bunny Paws" is Monday, March 20, from 5 to 7 p.m., while "Bunny Cares" is Sunday, March 26, starting at 9 to 10:30 a.m.

For both "Bunny Paws" and "Bunny Cares" events, appointments are recommended as space is limited.
