Where Are Trees Being Trimmed In WeHa? See If Your Street Is Impacted
Eversource is embarking on a large tree-trimming initiative in West Hartford to prevent future power outages.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — Local residents in coming weeks will have to be a bit patient while navigating their way around town, as Eversource Energy crews are looking to prevent future power outages.
That's because crews are fanning out around town when the weather permits to trim tree branches and try and make sure that when the weather sours, it won't take down power lines as well.
"Trees are the number one cause of outages during storms in Connecticut. Statewide, data shows a continued need for several types of vegetation management, ranging from regularly scheduled trimming and pruning to removal of trees that are decayed, insect-infested, damaged or structurally weak," wrote Eversource in a statement released by the Town of West Hartford this week.
