Free Concerts Set For Make Music Day In West Hartford

Make Music Day is a one-day event where free, live musical performances, and other musical events take place around the world.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — West Hartford will join the Make Music Day celebration with concerts throughout the day at Blue Back Square on Thursday, June 21. Make Music Day is a one-day event where free, live musical performances, opportunities to make music and other musical events take place around the world on the longest day of the year. Musical festivities in West Hartford are part of a global celebration of music making in more than 750 cities inspired by France’s Fête de la Musique.

The Town of West Hartford invites everyone to join in the global music celebration by attending the concerts schedule for June 21. (Read more from the town below):

11 a.m. to 12 noon — Rhythm Cups, a family-friendly, hands on music experience

1 p.m. to 2 p.m. — Stan Sullivan, folk and blues singer, songwriter

7 p.m. – Rock Voices choral group from First Church of Christ Congregation

“West Hartford is happy to be among all the cities and towns across the nation that are participating in a day that focuses on music and the talents of local musicians,” said Renée McCue, public relations specialist, Town of West Hartford.

Music has been shown to strengthen social connectivity, reduce stress, lower blood pressure, stimulate memory, and is integral to a well-rounded, enjoyable life. Make Music Day, June 21, is the perfect day to take in the free concerts.
