Marathon Impacts In West Hartford, What You Need To Know

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Most of the upcoming Hartford Marathon will take place in Hartford, but some of the race — and the necessary road closures — are also planned for the city's western neighbor.

West Hartford officials Wednesday issued a bulletin regarding multiple road closures associated with the event on Saturday, Oct. 8.

According to the town, more than 10,000 participants will be on local roads for the 2022 Eversource Hartford Marathon.

Roads will close on a rolling schedule starting at 8 a.m. in the Whiting Lane and Morley School neighborhoods followed by Albany Avenue and Elizabeth Park neighborhoods at 8:30 a.m.

Roads will reopen between 9:30 and 10 a.m. as runners pass.

When possible, police will direct cross traffic during the race.

Motorists are encourage to seek alternate routes. Detours will be in place. Delays are expected.
