Holiday Food Can Be Dangerous: WeHa Health Officials

The West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District Nov. 8 is hosting a forum on how to keep your holiday dishes safe from foodborne illnesses.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — With the calendar firmly turned over to November, its the time of year for holiday celebrations and food, food and food.

And with that comes the increased possibility of foodborne illnesses and potentially serious gastrointestinal fireworks, with the West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District hosting a special forum on the topic next week at a local library.

The event will take place Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 5 p.m., at the West Hartford Public Library's Faxon branch, 1073 New Britain Ave., for a talk on steps one can take to stay safe and healthy this holiday season.

"We will also discuss how to protect yourself from winter weather," wrote the town in an announcement.

The speaker will be Nicole Gibeau, environmental health program coordinator, West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District.

The event is free but registration is required.
