WEST HARTFORD, CT — Town officials are taking a look at the design of West Hartford's center and they need public input to help make it happen and determine if changes should be made.

Wednesday, the town is hosting multiple workshops where community feed back on various elements in what the center looks like is the goal.

The workshops will be on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at multiple places and times.

• In addition, weather permitting, pop-up workshop will be held at the corner of Farmington Avenue and LaSalle Road from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and another one from 5 to 7 p.m.

Stantec, the consultant hired to oversee the community feedback portion, will evaluate and make recommendations on design elements based on feedback they hear on "what makes West Hartford a great place for residents, visitors and businesses," reads a town announcement of the workshops.

Design elements up for discussion include traffic and parking lanes, on-street parking, sidewalk widths, bus stop accommodations, landscape improvements and bicycle access.

"While West Hartford Center will be the initial focus, the goal is to create a plan that could be used in any area of town," town officials wrote.
