Multi-Vehicle Wreck On I-84 Cleared In West Hartford: UPDATE

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 84 in West Hartford near a prior accident caused a large traffic jam, according to the state Department of Transportation, but it is now cleared.

The DOT reports this crash happened between exits 40 and 41 on I-84, resulting in the right and center lanes being closed.

This situation caused a 2.2-mile traffic backup on the highway, according to the DOT.

This accident was first reported at 3:40 p.m. and it is now no longer on the DOT's incident report list.

At 3:08 p.m., a single-vehicle crash slowed traffic in the general vicinity of that area, but it resulted in the shoulder being closed. That accident is cleared as well.
