Man, Girlfriend Arrested For Armed Robbery: West Hartford Police
Police say the woman acted as the getaway driver in a recent armed robbery in West Hartford.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — Police have arrested two people in connection to the armed robbery of the Sam's Food Store, located at 1149 New Britain Avenue in West Hartford, on Aug. 6. Police announced Wednesday morning that Luis Rodriguez, 44, and Larisa Almodovar, 43, were both taken into custody without incident on Aug. 14.
During the investigation, detectives discovered Rodriguez’s girlfriend, Almodovar, was the getaway driver in the robbery, according to Capt. Michael D. Perruccio. Rodriguez, who police had issued a “Wanted” poster for on Monday, was located at his mother’s house in East Hartford and Almodovar was located at her place of employment in New Britain, Perruccio said. Rodriguez was charged with first-degree robbery, sixth-degree larceny and second-degree unlawful restraint. He was held on a $500,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday morning.
