Man Killed Kitten With TV Remote, Severely Injured Another Kitten With BB Gun: West Hartford Police

The man is also accused of killing a pet rat and assaulting his girlfriend, according to police.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A West Hartford man is accused of killing a kitten and a pet rat, severely injuring another kitten, and assaulting his girlfriend, according to police. Several units were dispatched to a Sky View Drive residence at about 10:25 a.m. on Sept. 20 to investigate a report that a person had just killed two kittens inside an apartment, according to police.

While on the scene, police confirmed that one kitten was dead and the other kitten was several injured. It was also reported that the same suspect killed a pet rat in the same apartment a few days earlier and assaulted his girlfriend, according to police.

The kitten was killed after it was hit in the head with a TV remote, according to the police report. The other kitten was hit and shot with a BB gun and taken to the vet. The pet rat was shot with a BB gun and died, according to police.

Corey McCall, 22, of Sky View Drive, was arrested on two counts of cruelty to animals and one count each of third-degree assault, unlawful discharge of a firearm and possession of less than 4 ounces of marijuana. He was held on a $150,000 surety bond.
