New Directors Join The Village
The Village for Families & Children grows its Board of Directors
The Village for Families & Children, a 200-year-old nonprofit that provides a wide range of services to over 8,000 children and their families in Greater Hartford each year, has elected two new directors to its board.
Jeffrey A. Brine of West Hartford is Senior Council at the West Hartford law firm of Matthew Dallas Gordon, LLC practicing in the areas of business law, real estate, and wills and estate administration. Prior to joining the law firm, his career involved working on compliance and regulatory matters with the Knight of Columbus, Security-Connecticut Life Insurance Company, Hartford Life Insurance Company, and the Internal Revenue Service.
Brine is a member of the Closing and Compliance Committee of the Connecticut Mortgage Bankers Association, a SCORE counselor supporting the formation and growth of new small businesses, and an Ambassador of the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce.

David L. Friar of West Hartford is a licensed architect and registered interior designer. A founding partner and former president of Friar Associates, Friar enjoyed a 40-year career, completing award-winning projects in the K-12 school market, municipal, health care, residential, retail, religious, industrial and commercial office facilities – both new construction and renovations, including historic rehabilitation.
Friar served as Event Chairman of the Ferrari Club of America / New England Region’s premier annual Concorso Ferrari event for nine years, raising $750,000 for area charities, primarily Connecticut Children’s Medical Center and The Village for Families & Children.
