New Escape Room, Restaurant Opens In West Hartford

A unique adventure experience with an adjacent restaurant has opened in West Hartford.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A new escape room experience with an adjacent full-service restaurant has opened at Blue Back Square in West Hartford. Skeleton Key Adventure Emporium, located at 61 Raymond Road, B190, offers a rotating collection of escape games that use light, sound, video, and interactivity to transport participants into new worlds. Deadbolt Spirits & Fare is a full-service restaurant that is adjacent to Skeleton Key.

Skeleton Key’s initial three games are Starry Night, where players break into a London art museum to steal Van Gogh's famous painting; Scarab, an ancient Egyptian-themed game featuring a mummy entombed inside a pyramid; and Virus, where participants race against time to cure a global pandemic. Teams will have a blast solving puzzles, cracking codes, and breaking into secret chambers as they make their way through each 60-minute game. The full-service restaurant features whimsical American food, along with a full bar. Deadbolt is the perfect spot for an unforgettable meal or snack, whether playing a Skeleton Key game or not.

We have a great guacamole burger, carnival popcorn, and a drink called ‘Imperial Shipwreck.’ We have bathrooms with floors made of shattered mirrors, and a camel that spits if you get too close. Where else can you get all that?"

Skeleton Key adventures are fun for groups of friends, teams of coworkers, and families. Every age and ability level can contribute, though the recommended age is 10 and older. Adults are requested to accompany children under 15. Pricing per person is $24 Monday through Thursday daytimes, $28 Monday through Thursday evenings, and $32 Friday through Sunday.
