NWC art students will participate in Memory Project for 2nd year

This year Northwest Catholic artists will paint portraits of children from Pakistan.

Last year Ms. Celina Marquis’ art classes participated in the Memory Project, a unique program that invites art teachers and their students to create and donate portraits to youth around the world who have faced challenges such as neglect, abuse, and poverty. Because children in such situations usually have few personal keepsakes, the portraits provide them with meaningful mementos.

This year Northwest Catholic artists will paint portraits of children from Pakistan. Memory Project staff have sent photos of children and teens from Pakistan to NWC. Now the school young artists are charged with creating portraits of their chosen children. Staff from the Memory Project will then hand-deliver the portraits to the children.

Since 2004 the Memory Project has delivered more than 100,000 portraits to children in 43 countries. To learn more about this important program, visit https://www.memoryproject.org/pakistan.
