Obituary: Janet Theresa Keroack Quinn, 79, of West Hartford

A lifelong West Hartford resident, she was one of the original Hall High Dancers and continued to dance into her 70s.

Janet Theresa Keroack Quinn, 79, of West Hartford, entered eternal rest surrounded by her family on Wednesday, June 13, 2018. She was born on October 14, 1938, in Portland, ME, to the late Joseph Albert and Althea Legere Keroack.

A life-long resident of West Hartford, Janet graduated from William H. Hall High School in 1956. She was one of the original Hall High Dancers, and continued to dance into her 70’s. Janet was employed by Metropolitan Life & Casualty, where she made life-long friends. She worked in the insurance industry for many years until she began working at St. Thomas the Apostle Church (STA) upon her retirement.

Janet is survived by her four children and their spouses: Patrice and Scott Reilly, of Newington; Ellen and William O’Connor, of West Hartford; Maribeth and Todd Navin, of West Hartford; and Brendan Quinn and Dorothy DeVincke of Wethersfield. She leaves her beloved grandchildren of whom she was so proud, Katharine, Grace, Sarah, Grant, Kian, Jack, Quinn, Lenore, and Declan. Janet is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Albert and Sharon Keroack, of West Hartford, her brother-in-law Richard Hock, of Wethersfield, her former husband, Jack Quinn, of Wethersfield, many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Janet was predeceased by her sister, Loretta Keroack Hock and brother, Louis Keroack. Janet volunteered at her church serving as President of the Women’s Club and co-founder of the Little Lambs Sunday School.

She was a Brownie and Cub Scout leader, served on the STA Home and School Association, and was a board member of the Guild of St. Agnes. Janet loved gardening, crafting, dancing, and being with her family. She will be dearly missed. Janet’s family would like to thank the entire staff at Brookdale-Chatfield in West Hartford, for their compassionate care of Janet.
