Opening Date Announced For New Off-Ramp On I-84 In West Hartford

The project began in September 2017.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — The newly constructed I-84 Exit 43 (Park Road) off-ramp is expected to open to traffic on Friday, Dec. 7 (weather permitting), the town of West Hartford Engineering Department announced on Friday.

A new traffic signal on Park Road at the intersection with the new ramps will also be put into operation, which will restore access for westbound traffic on Park Road to turn left and access I-84. The traffic signal at the end of the existing off-ramp will be permanently removed as part of this work, according to officials. Read more from the press release below:

Motorists are urged to use caution and reduce speeds as they travel through the new interchange. Temporary lane shifts and short duration closures may occur along the Interstate-84, Eastbound and Westbound off-ramps on a temporary basis on Thursday, Dec. 6, during the nighttime and into the early morning hours to transition between the existing and the newly constructed off-ramp.
