WEST HARTFORD, CT — Police are investigating two overnight burglaries that occurred in West Hartford on Wednesday. A liquor store and a shopping plaza were burglarized within hours of each other by different suspects, according to police.

Police responded to 612 South Quaker Lane (The Wise Old Dog) at about 1:20 a.m. in response to a burglar alarm. Arriving officers found that the front door had been smashed and a suspect had entered the store. A K-9 team from Manchester responded and cleared the building.

“Store surveillance cameras showed that a black male wearing a hooded sweatshirt kicked a window out of the front door and then entered the store,” police wrote in the report. “The male then walked behind the counter and concealed a large amount of liquor bottles in a duffel bag before quickly exiting the store and heading southwest.”
