Pamela Hippolyte Elected to Board of Urban League of Greater Hartford

West Hartford resident is very active in Hartford-Area Communities

The Urban League of Greater Hartford’s Board of Directors hosted its 2024 Annual meeting on June 20, where West Hartford resident Pamela Hippolyte, Assistant Vice President, Affordable Mortgage Loan Officer at Liberty Bank, was elected as a new member of the Board. This year, the historic organization is celebrating 60 years of community service to Connecticut.

The Urban League of Greater Hartford officers for the 2024-2025 fiscal year are: Chair Nicole Hughey, a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Executive; Vice Chair Wes Alexander, Vice President of Workforce Solutions at Travelers; Treasurer Gaston Persano, President of Engine Alliance at Pratt & Whitney; and Secretary Ellen Steinfeld, Senior Executive Vice President of Lending and Payments at Berkshire Hills Bancorp Inc.

In addition to Pamela Hippolyte, the new Directors are: Angelo Adams, President of Zipcar; Erika Goldstein, Vice President of Global Modernization Acceleration at Otis Elevator Co.; Teshia Levy-Grant, Senior Managing Director and Diversity Equity Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB) Officer at Webster Bank; Dr. John Maduko, President of Connecticut State Community College (CT STATE); and Graham Robinson, Senior Vice President & Global President of Stanley Industrial at Stanley Black & Decker, Inc.

The continuing At-Large Directors are: Dr. Michael Bailey, Co-Pastor of The First Cathedral; Christopher Clarke, Vice President/Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch/Bank of America; Kelly Harper, Senior Manager of Accounting and Reporting Advisory at Deloitte, LLP; Jeffrey Hines, Chief Diversity Officer at UCONN Health; Julia Marquis, Vice President Legal Counsel at Aetna/CVS; and Laura Soll-Broxterman, President of Laura Soll Public Relations, LLC. Also holding a seat on the Board is Luz Holmes-Padgett as the President of the Urban League of Greater Hartford Young Professionals Auxiliary.

Pamela Hippolyte of West Hartford brings experience in cross-functional team leadership and business strategy development in affordable mortgage lending to the Board of the Urban League of Greater Hartford. Born and raised in Hartford, she has dedicated her career to helping the low-to-moderate and marginal individuals who often do not have a voice and helps them with obtaining sustainable and stable homeownership that becomes a means of building wealth and legacy. For over 30 years, her focus has been on increasing homeownership through numerous types of initiatives and has helped thousands of individuals and families become homeowners, often motivating and coaching them to success.

Over the past five years as Assistant Vice President, Affordable Mortgage Loan Officer, at Liberty Bank, Hippolyte has emphasized collaboration and business strategy, leading diverse teams towards common goals while spearheading innovative lending solutions that expand access to affordable housing for underserved communities, while setting the stage for long-term sustainability. Before that position, she was Vice President CRA/Residential Loan Officer for Farmington Bank for four years until that bank was acquired by M&T Bank. There, she was responsible for growing Farmington Bank’s Community Reinvestment Act-related residential lending activity in Connecticut and specialized in affordable lending including mortgages to first-time homebuyers. During that time, Hippolyte was appointed by Hartford’s mayor to serve on the City’s affordable housing task force. Prior to that, she was Vice President of Residential Lending for Peoples United Bank for nearly 20 years, focusing on affordable lending and home buyer education.

A longtime community volunteer and a teammate who embodies Liberty Bank’s brand to “Be Community Kind” in everything she does, Hippolyte has been active of the boards of Saint Agnes Home in West Hartford, St. Justin/ St. Michael Church in Hartford, and volunteers at St. Francis Hospital & Medical Center through their pastoral care department. She is also involved with Mutual Housing of Greater Hartford, NHS (Neighborhood Housing Services) of New Britain, and several other housing agencies in Greater Hartford. A Justice of The Peace, she has lived in West Hartford for the past 29 years with her husband, Wilston, where they raised three sons, and she has three grandchildren.
