Puppy Rescued From House Fire In West Hartford
Firefighters found the dog inside the home after everyone else had been evacuated on Monday night.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — Firefighters rescued a dog from a late Monday night fire on Ridgewood Road after everyone else evacuated the home. Firefighters found the puppy, a dachshund, inside the home and reunited it with the family. No injuries were reported. Read a recap of the incident from the West Hartford Firefighters union below:
“Members of Group 4, handled a late evening fire on Ridgewood Road. Engines 5, 2, 1, Quints 4, 3, and Battalion 4 were dispatched around 1050 pm for a report of a home filling with smoke. Upon arrival the Lt on Engine 5, found smoke pushing from the front of the home with reports of everyone out but their pet Datsun still inside. An interior search was performed by Engine 2 locating the puppy, safely returning it (to) the homeowner, while 3 Lines were stretched and put into operation producing a quick knockdown. No injuries were reported.
