Reward Grows In Fatal West Hartford Hit-And-Run Probe

West Hartford police are looking for information regarding the December 2022 fatal hit-and-run accident that killed an elderly local woman.

The West Hartford Police Department Thursday announced a large increase in the reward for information leading to the capture of a suspect wanted in connection with a December 2022 hit-and-run incident that killed Eugenia Yurovsky, 89, above.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — On Thursday, police announced a major increase in the reward for information leading to the arrest of a hit-and-run suspect who killed an 89-year-old woman last December.

The West Hartford Police Department announced that Gov. Ned Lamont has authorized a $25,000 reward in connection with the probe of the incident.

That reward is in addition to $1,000 already put up by the Rotary Club of West Hartford, making for a total $26,000 reward for tips that help police catch the suspect.

On Dec. 20, 2022, 89-year-old Eugenia Yurovsky was struck and killed by a motorist in the area of Boulevard and Whiting Lane.

Since then, police have been working on leads in hopes of finding the suspect and the suspect's vehicles, but to no avail.

They said a possible motor vehicle of interest is a 2010-15 GMC type sport utility vehicle.

Police said the fleeing vehicle that evening "likely sustained damage to the front driver-side grille and bumper area."

Yurovsky's death was one of five on West Hartford roadways that month and it helped spearhead a year-long push for pedestrian and motorist safety in town.
