Update: Road Work That Caused Traffic Jam In West Hartford Cleared

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Travelers on Interstate 84 in West Hartford Wednesday had to prepare to exercise a bit of patience.

Road work between exits 48 and 49 over a half-mile stretch of I-84 east had the right lane closed for much of the day, according to the state Department of Transportation.

But while patience on the road is always desired, the DOT Wednesday afternoon reported that the scene was cleared as rain overspread the state.

Work there began at 9:05 a.m. and it was expected to continue until about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, the DOT said.

The backup this morning was estimated at 3.4 miles, according to the state.
