School Bus, Fire Truck All Part Of Icy Crashes In West Hartford
An icy Wednesday caused havoc on West Hartford roads.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — The carnage in West Hartford caused by a quick freeze and rain Wednesday involved nearly 40 crashes, police said in an evening report.
The calls in their entirety, police said, not only involved crashes, but disabled vehicles and ice hazards in general.
By 12:30 p.m., three accidents took place involving minor injuries, police said. One of the crashes was at 1200 Trout Brook Drive and involved a Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles police car, according to a report. Several people involved in the accident were transported to area hospitals, according to a report.

Police said there were 36 reported accidents involving property damage only. One of them involved a West Hartford fire truck that sustained minor damage, but no reported injuries.
Another crash involved a CT Transit bus that hit a Frontier Communications pole, police said.
