Tour West Hartford's Arboretum This Spring

The first of two free, tour sessions will take place at Westmoor Park in West Hartford on Saturday, May 18.

WEST HARTFORD, CT —Free guided tours of the town's newly certified Level II Westmoor Arboretum are available on Saturday, May 18, and June 1, from 1 to 3 p.m.

The arboretum, located at Westmoor Park, 119 Flagg Road, West Hartford, contains more than 130 species of trees and woody shrubs, all labeled with informational signage.

Volunteer tree naturalist Bill Gleason and park naturalist Douglas Jackson were both singled out with recognition awards for their ground-breaking efforts to make Westmoor a Level I Arboretum in 2023 and again for leading a team of tree and plant experts to achieve Level II accreditation in 2024.

They will serve as the tour guides.

Tours are free, but pre-registration is strongly recommended.
