Tree Work Prompting Detours In Area Of West Hartford
Tree work is slated for an area along Trout Brook Drive in West Hartford in early May.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A tree removal project will require part of Trout Brook Drive in West Hartford to be closed for portions of four days, officials said.
Town officials said the work is slated for May 2 to May 5, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The town of West Hartford's Department of Public Works, in cooperation with the Division of Engineering, will be "selectively" removing hazardous trees along the west side of Trout Brook Drive. The trees designated for removal are dead, diseased, or obstruct the future alignment of Trout Brook Trail, officials said.

"Most of these trees present a safety risk to the motoring public on Trout Brook Drive, as well as future trail users," officials added.
Beginning "on or about" May 2, Trout Brook Drive will be closed to all southbound traffic between Asylum Avenue and Fern Street, according to the plans. A detour will be posted, but residences along this block will be accessible from the northbound travel lanes, officials said.
On May 5 — weather dependent — Trout Brook Drive will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Fern Street and Farmington Avenue during the same hours, officials said.
