Unique West Hartford Park To Benefit From Fundraising Feast
The fundraiser on Sept. 29 will support operations at Westmoor Park in West Hartford, which is an agricultural education center.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A fundraiser to help out one of the state's more unique municipal parks will take place later in the month.
The event is called "Feast on the Farm" and it will take place on Friday, Sept. 29, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Westmoor Park, 119 Flag Road. Tickets are on sale now.
Though Westmoor Park is owned and operated by the Town of West Hartford, it is self-funded facility that is much, much more than a place to take a walk.

"Westmoor Park is a self-funded environmental education center operated by the Leisure Services Department of the Town of West Hartford, encompassing 162 acres," wrote the town on its website. "Our demonstration farm, wildflower meadows, perennial gardens, woodland trails, and ponds are open to the public daily. We also offer a wide variety of educational farm and nature programming for folks of all ages.
"Westmoor Park is an environmental, agricultural and horticultural education center dedicated to generating awareness and appreciation for the natural world."

As a result, a special fund has been set up called the "Westmoor Park Fund" to supplement the costs of park operations.
Which is where this fund-raiser comes in.
Attendees of "Feast on the Farm" will enjoy a a four-course dinner featuring locally-grown produce and products, highlighted by the culinary talents of the DORO restaurant group.
All proceeds benefit the Westmoor Park Fund, which supports facility improvements for environmental education.
