West Hartford Juneteenth Celebration Seeks Help

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Local officials are looking for donations of time and money from the community to have a memorial Juneteenth celebration in town in June.

June 15 is a national holidday marking the end of slavery in the United States and celebrating African-American freedom, achievement, and contributions.

"Our celebration is more than just a gathering; it's a vibrant showcase of culture, resilience, and unity," wrote the Town of West Hartford. "We need your help to bring this free event to West Hartford. Sustainable CT will match dollar-to-dollar any donation made through Juneteenth Patronicity."

To help with the Juneteenth celebration, community members can:

•Donate: Every contribution, no matter the size, helps build an enriching celebration.

• Share: Help spread the word. Share the crowdfunding page on social media, with friends, family, and local businesses who might want to support or participate.

• Volunteer: Interested in lending a hand on the day of the event? Contact event organizers to join the volunteer team.
