West Hartford Man Charged With Possession of Illegal Firearm

HARTFORD, CT — A West Hartford man was arrested for possessing an illegal firearm discovered during a traffic stop Tuesday in Hartford.

Detectives conducting surveillance in the area of Barbour and Judson streets observed a motor vehicle driving recklessly in the area, and conducted a motor vehicle stop on this vehicle in front of 135 Nelson Street, Foley said.

While addressing numerous motor vehicle violations, the detectives discovered the operator was in possession of an illegal firearm, a Ruger SR 9mm, and a half-ounce of marijuana, Foley said.

Tyshon Walker AKA Capone, 18, of 18 Boulanger Ave., West Hartford, was charged with weapons in a motor vehicle, carrying a pistol without a permit, possession of a high capacity magazine, possession of a controlled substance, misuse of plates, operating without a license, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and operating without insurance.
